BOM - February 2018 - Day 1.5

It’s been a busy weekend! I thought I would have more stitching time but making sure that I have things for the grandsons birthday takes priority. So with the couple hours I did have I was able to get some stitching done.  Thanks for sticking with me!  I will post more tomorrow- hopefully the finished design.



Some things I wanted to express.  Some stitchers don't like to have a lot of different colors to deal with in working a design.  I have added two for the ribbon at the base of the heart.  I just felt it gave some depth if the stitcher didn't want to use the additional ribbon.  I also believe that the design would be cute if the ribbon didn't have the two colors of blue, but only uses one color.  That is at the stitcher's discretion.

BOM 2018 February- Day 2

Good Evening! It has been a full day here. I wish I could say it was a full day of stitching but - No. Being a working household we have those fun things, such as laundry, to accomplish before sitting and doing the relaxation activities.  That being said, I wanted to share how far I have gotten even in the couple hours I have been able to stitch.  I’ll be back to post more later.

It’s been a good day of stitching! I made some adjustments in my pattern because I didn’t have the exact colors I wanted but I think they are going to work out quite nicely.  Next I will need to complete the background, add the month and then the ribbon and it will be ready to go to the framers.

End of stitching on Day 1. Heart is almost done!  Love the colors and looking forward to seeing the depth come out with the addition of the different pinks and the ribbons and bow!

Block of the Month - February - Let's stitch together!!

Hello All!

I thought it would be fun to stitch this design together!  I have gathered all my materials and will post a few images while we stitch along!  Ultimately you could choose to use the block as part of a 2018 calendar.  The intended design size for the 2018 calendar (201 x 150 stitches = 14.36" x 10.71").  This design size does not include any extra fabric so don't forget to include what you would need for framing. Block of the Month - February 2018

  Happy February!  While this is a 'bit' late for Valentine's Day, because I just launched my new blog site I wanted to get this months Block of the Month out for all to view.  This month's block has a special meaning for me (as do all my designs).  My hubby is a fantastic guy...but he isn't James Bond when it comes to romance.  I'm the luckiest gal in the world because there are a new fresh bouquet of roses every few weeks next to my bed.  So this Valentines Day when we exchanged our Valentines, he gave me a lovely card and I gave him the heart shaped chocolate box!  So this month's block of the month is my fun reminder of this years gifting.  So hearts and bows are the ticket when describing this pattern.

I love hearts but in this design I added a little different touch with a real ribbon and bow versus making a stitched one in the design.  I love when a design has depth and adding the ribbon gives a 3D feel to the design.  I will be finished with the stitched design shortly and I will post the finished design.  To view the design please visit my KeenStitches website and look for Block of the Month

Welcome to Keen Stitches Blog.  I am pleased to say this is my very first post on my new blog!  I want to take a moment to say that I am very excited about blogging!  I'm looking to use this space as a way to share my designs and other fun things!
